Mission Statement

The American College of Chiropractic Consultants (ACCC) aspires to advance and encourage programs which educate all utilization management professionals to reach their highest levels of achievement - intellectually, scientifically, accurately and ethically. The ACCC strives to promote the highest standards of utilization review (UR) and quality assurance (QA). Our members strive to deliver fair, accurate, timely, ethical, clinical and scientific consensus based utilization management activities. Through our mission, the ACCC will empower their members to be advocates for scientific and clinical truth and justice, serving their clients with fairness and integrity.

Historical Perspective

Established in the mid 1970s and chartered as a non-profit corporation in 1980, the ACCC has been the leader in QA/UR within the chiropractic profession. It is the largest chiropractic organization representing this subspecialty. The ACCC gathers, correlates and disseminates information to its members and interested parties. The College does not directly provide utilization management services. Its members are independent contractors providing advisory consulting services to virtually every major insurance carrier, TPA, plan and other entities which provide chiropractic benefits. Their expertise extends to independent medical examinations, educational training, medicolegal, risk management and healthcare administration activities.

Certification Board

The ACCC is affiliated with the American Board of Chiropractic Consultants (ABCC) which is dedicated to assuring a high quality certification process. Members of the ACCC that have accumulated the required postgraduate education credits and meet the standard of training and experience may apply to take this national certification examination. Individuals who pass this rigorous examination are granted the designation of Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Consultants (DABCC). The granting of this status recognizes academic and professional achievement in the field of QA/UR. ABCC certified practitioners are distinguished by their level of skill in medical records review, case analysis and management, and clinical/examination acumen.

The ACCC has members throughout the United States who are currently providing consulting services. If you would like additional information on how to become a member of the ACCC or on how a member of the ACCC can help you, please contact us.
